Lange presents RICHARD LANGE "Pour le Mérite" white 18K gold style watch

Precision concept, unswervingly

Lange presented Richard Lange "Pour le Mérite" white 18K gold style

Lange carefully crafted 218 limited edition Richard Lange "Pour le Mérite", meticulous spirit of precision watchmaking concept. The new white 18K gold with a black dial will debut at Lange's Dresden International Dealership on September 22, 2016. Watch built-in sesame chain drive system provides stable torque and accurate rate.

RICHARD LANGE "Pour le Mérite" first introduced white 18K gold style

The first New Era Collection was launched in the fall of 1994 and since then has been listed as the symbol of top technology by the Lange watches in the name of "Pour le Mérite". So far the launch of the four models are equipped with sesame chain drive system. Richard Lange "Pour le Mérite", which came out in 2009, pays homage to precision in its simplest form: the complex device mounted on the movement's sole design goal is to increase the rate accuracy. Early 18k rose gold and platinum models have been sold 950 models are now available with a limited edition white dial black 18K gold models.

The new watch case is made of solid white 18K gold with a diameter of 40.5 mm. White Roman numerals and rhodium-plated 18-carat gold hands contrast sharply with a black solid silver dial. Small red Arabic numerals at 15, 30, 45, 60 minutes, cleverly add a touch of color to the design of black and white backgrounds. Hand-stitched black alligator strap with white 18K gold clasp highlights the unique style of Richard Lange's Pour le Mérite.

Complex technology, the pursuit of the ultimate

Since 1994, the Richard Lange "Pour le Mérite" and even the "Pour le Mérite" models are equipped with sesame chain drive systems, a key technical sign that sets new benchmarks for precision watchmaking. Sesame chain drive system based on historical pocket watches and for the first time by Lange into the watch, this system can provide a stable torque, so that the balance wheel to maintain a constant amplitude throughout the power reserve. Around the barrel of the sesame chain, the cone-shaped parabolic wheel will be the main power transmission to the wheel gear, so can maintain torque unchanged. When the watch is fully on the chain, the sesame chain will pull the edge of the smaller pagoda wheel, which is shorter lever. Conversely, when the tension of the mainspring is almost exhausted, the sesame chain will pull the larger pagoda wheel, which is the longer lever. The operating principle of this system is like a bicycle transmission, except that the transmission ratio of this system is not constant but continuously changing.

Sesame chain of 636 parts can withstand more than two kilograms of weight. To give full play to its role as a sesame chain drive system, watchmakers added an additional technical detail: Whenever it enters full or completely relaxed state, two separate devices will stop the chain to prevent thick Sesame chains of 0.25 mm and 156 mm long are over-stressed.

Sesame chain drive system to drive the pagoda wheel in the watch chain and run in the opposite direction of rotation. Therefore, when the chain must ensure that the watch continues to run. The fine planetary gear system in the pagoda wheel maintains the power transmission between the pagoda wheel and the movement during the winding phase. The planetary gear system consists of 38 tiny parts that the watchmakers must fit into a pagoda wheel less than 8.6 mm in diameter.

All this is hidden under the black dial. However, a significant part of the sesame chain drive system is revealed in the sapphire crystal back cover. German silver 3/4 splint large opening, so that sesame chain drive system is clearly visible.

Lange homemade L044.1-type movement
Perfect design, meticulous

Manufactured in the form of a watch factory, the L044.1 is made to meet the most stringent quality standards of Lange and is carefully hand-finished. The built-in Lange balance springs power the large screw balance at 21,600 vibrations per hour. Four solid 18K gold balance screws can be transmitted by the tower wheel torque, precise adjustment of moment of inertia. In addition, the magnificent decoration of all the movement components are done by the watch factory itself, including the ruler above the sesame-link chain. The balance wheel, the escape wheel and the four-wheeled splinter also show superb carving techniques that make 218 watches each unique and unique. This limit the number of watches more contains a special significance: 218 is the representative of Lange's current number of points of sale worldwide.
