New Corrosion Inhibitor Extends Container Life

A new corrosion inhibitor widely used in large-scale chemical plant ethylene cracker and anti-corrosion decompression system of the refinery has recently been successfully developed at Beijing University of Chemical Technology, and successfully applied at the Yanzhou Refinery and the Zhongyuan Oil Refinery.

Field experiments showed that using this product as a corrosion inhibitor to add crude oil does not affect the performance of the oil refining system. It can be used over a wide range of pH values ​​and temperatures. Compared with similar domestic products, the corrosion inhibition rate is increased by 5%. ~10%, can effectively extend the life of the container.

According to reports, equipment corrosion has always been an important issue faced by petrochemical companies, especially as the processing of high-sulfur and high-acid crude oil continues to increase, the corrosion of equipment has become more and more serious, and accidents caused by equipment corrosion are increasing. The application of water-soluble corrosion inhibitors is of great significance for the long-term operation of petrochemical plants and the reduction of production costs.
