Guys and girls behind the grill

If you're anything like me and adore Pinterest, you'll know how incredible it is at offering those irresistible recipes that leave you drooling and eager to try them out. Personally, I've always been clueless when it comes to barbecues. Recently, we received a portable BBQ to test out, and I figured I'd need some guidance on where to start. Naturally, my first stop was Pinterest—after all, it's the ultimate source for inspiration. I’ve got a dedicated board for BBQ ideas, and it’s packed with everything you could possibly need for the perfect barbecue. From mouthwatering recipes to drink suggestions, party decor, playlists, and even barbecue-appropriate attire, it’s all there. One of my favorite ideas from this board is a dessert concept I stumbled upon: grilled bananas. The recipe from What’s Gabby Cooking caught my eye because it sounded both unique and incredibly simple. Over the weekend, we decided to give this a shot. It was surprisingly easy to prepare and would work wonderfully if you were out camping. We followed the basic recipe by grilling whole bananas directly on the barbecue. Some people prefer wrapping them in foil, but we kept ours au naturel for a slightly smokier flavor. Once they were perfectly charred, we topped them with melted chocolate, fudge sauce, and an extra sprinkle of colorful toppings. A scoop or two of vanilla ice cream completed the dish, making it feel like a real treat. For a lighter option, we also served it with Greek yogurt, which turned out to be just as delicious. To our delight, the kids absolutely loved this dessert! I’m sure it’ll become a staple in our household.
