MaST II Community Charter School – Phase II
The second phase of the MaST II Community Charter School completes the vision set forth in the master plan, establishing a standalone, vibrant charter school campus at the heart of the Tacony neighborhood. Similar in style and function to phase one, this new 84,000-square-foot building more than doubles the available educational space. It includes state-of-the-art facilities such as a fully-equipped maker space, a competitive gymnasium with a fitness mezzanine, an expanded media center, and an e-gaming and video broadcasting suite, offering students a well-rounded learning environment.
Physicians Pavilion
Serving nearly one million residents, The Brooklyn Hospital Center needed to provide improved access to care, accommodate growing healthcare demands, and address demographic shifts in the surrounding neighborhoods. To achieve these goals, they required a modern outpatient environment. EwingCole designed the new, 45,000-square-foot Physicians Pavilion to house more than 20 specialties across six floors. Inspired by hospitality spaces, the interior design features rich materials and bold color palettes that vary from floor to floor, giving each level its own distinct character.
Irving Plaza
One of New York City's most beloved and storied music venues, Irving Plaza has undergone significant transformations since its inception in the late 1800s. Originally three separate dwellings, it evolved into a hotel and eventually became a music venue in the 1990s. While not a historic preservation project, EwingCole's designers imagined what the spaces might have looked like during the early 20th century and brought those elements to life. The result is a Victorian-inspired design that seamlessly blends the charm of a historic NYC home with the modern energy of the theater's punk, metal, and indie rock legacy. Fans can look forward to an enhanced sensory experience when attending live performances.
Madeira Shell House
Located along the scenic Schuylkill River, Boathouse Row is one of Philadelphia's most cherished landmarks, including the Madeira Shell House, which serves as the home for the University of Pennsylvania's three varsity rowing programs. Built in 1875, it is among the oldest boathouses in the country. However, the facility has struggled to keep up with the program's demands and requires a comprehensive renovation to support Penn rowing's full potential. The redesign reconstructs and expands the existing boathouse, addressing operational deficiencies while preserving its historical significance. The exterior retains its original charm, while the interior has been thoroughly modernized.
National Museum Of American History
The National Museum of American History houses nearly two million artifacts and over three miles of archival collections. This transformative renovation is part of a multi-year effort to renew the building's 120,000-square-foot west exhibition wing. EwingCole facilitated numerous meetings with stakeholders from 14 departments to craft unique experiences aligned with the museum's objectives. The final design incorporates flexible galleries that can be reconfigured quickly on each of the wing's three floors without major renovations. The spaces are now open and airy, with modular power and data systems and theatrical lighting integrated into the ceilings.
White Plains Outpatient Surgery Center
White Plains Outpatient Surgery Center is a not-for-profit healthcare provider dedicated to offering high-quality acute care and preventive services to residents, workers, and visitors in Westchester County, NY. To expand their capacity, they acquired this location to establish an outpatient surgery center. EwingCole handled the entire interior renovation, including comprehensive mechanical and electrical upgrades. The updated facility is now compliant with current standards and features a redesigned lobby, renovated operating rooms, and recovery areas. Through layered textures, natural elements, and symbolic graphics, the design team created calming and welcoming spaces for patients and visitors alike.

Best badger are brushes made with the finer and more pliable hairs from 20 - 25% of the badger's body. It is longer in length and lighter in color than 'pure' badger hair. A 'best' badger brush is more densely filled with hair than the 'pure' badger brush and will produce a correspondingly greater lather. However, some wet shavers argue that the variance between the quality of a 'pure' and a 'best' badger brush is negligible. Best badger and better quality brush hairs are often fit so that the ends do not have to be cut to shape.Pure badger are badger hair brushes that use the most common hair from the underbelly of a badger, the hair which covers around 60% of a badger's body. This hair varies greatly in softness, pliability and color. Pure badger hair is usually dark in color, but fluctuates from a light tan to a near-black or silvery sheen. The hair is coarser than 'best' or 'silvertip' hair due to its larger shaft. Brushes made exclusively with pure badger hair cost significantly less than finer badger hair.
