HOTT-Rohrglas GmbH, headquartered in Mitterteich, Germany, has officially received official approval from the Chinese government a few days ago, and is authorized to export special glass tubes that can be processed into ampoules, cassettes, vials and syringes to China. This special glass from SCHOTT Group is considered by customers around the world as an ideal raw material for manufacturing top-level pharmaceutical packaging products because of its stable water resistance and outstanding performance such as easy processing.
So far, SCHOTT has supplied "Fiolax" special glass tubes for the Chinese market for four consecutive years. It is estimated that the market for the entire pharmaceutical glass tube market, which exceeds 150,000 tons, is still relatively small, but it is expected to see strong growth in the next few years. "This certification is especially important to us because it proves to our Chinese customers that we are in line with China's stringent requirements for product quality," explained Peter Scherer, vice president of marketing and sales at SCHOTT-Rohrglas.
The State Food and Drug Administration of China is currently implementing a large and ambitious licensing process for pharmaceutical products and has set a very high quality standard. Scherer said, "We believe that China has consistently adhered to a quality-centered approach. We appreciate this very much, because it is impossible to set a higher standard for the safety of pharmaceuticals and pharmaceuticals."
