China developed thermoplastic polyimide

Experts and scholars from all over the country who participated in the assessment believe that the thermoplastic polyimide jointly developed by Changzhou Guangcheng New Plastics Co., Ltd. and Nanjing University of Technology and its large-scale production technology have filled domestic gaps and advanced product performance.

According to reports, thermoplastic polyimides have been the most versatile special engineering plastics ever produced in polymers. It is one of the key materials for the development of high-tech industries such as electrical engineering, electronics, information, military industry, nuclear industry, and aerospace industry. The global demand for it has exceeded 20,000 tons, and the direct output value is more than US$20 billion. At present, the foreign production and sales volume has reached 200 tons, and the domestic market demand is about 200 million yuan per year. In the past, thermoplastic polyimides used in our country depended on imports and were very expensive. Now China is the third country after the United States and Japan to produce this plastic material. Hu Shichao, general manager of Changzhou Guangchengxin Plastic Co., Ltd., said that China's independent innovation and research and development of thermoplastic polyimides have broken the technical blockade imposed by a few countries on China.

It is reported that Changzhou Guangcheng New Plastics Co., Ltd. has established a technology development center in close cooperation with Nanjing University of Technology and built a large-scale production line of thermoplastic polyimide resin. The resin production capacity can reach 200 tons/year and has been developed and tested. 17 kinds of brands. Molding grade and injection molding grade special materials processing capacity reached 300 tons/year, not only can meet the domestic market demand, but also can be exported.
