SP-II steel barrel testing equipment is a special equipment for steel barrel performance testing jointly developed by Henan Commodity Inspection Bureau and Zhengzhou Barrel Factory according to the requirements of “International Maritime Dangerous Regulations”. The device completed the Lantu design in May 1991. In October of the same year, the first prototype was successfully trial-produced and shipped to the Changzhou Commodity Inspection Bureau for installation and use. Under the close cooperation of the Changzhou Commodity Inspection Bureau, the machine has undergone several major improvements in response to problems in the use process. The equipment has perfect performance and convenient operation, and basically meets the requirements of the quality inspection department and the production enterprise.

In September 1992, the State Administration of Commodity Inspection organized a scientific and technical achievement appraisal meeting for SP-II steel drum testing equipment. The experts at the meeting agreed that the equipment is the first in China. It integrates electromechanical integration, reasonable design, convenient operation, accurate test data, and meets the testing requirements of “International Maritime Dangerous Regulations”. It is currently the ideal testing equipment in China. The basic situation of the device is described as follows:

SP--II steel drum inspection equipment. It consists of four parts: the main console, the airtight test area, the hydraulic test area, and the drop test area. The main console looks like an upright piano. The vertical panel is an instrument panel with pressure digital display, time digital display, voltmeter, ammeter, signal light and power switch. The flat panel is a button panel. According to the airtight, hydraulic, and falling sequence, three sets of control buttons are installed from left to right, and a flap is mounted on the back for easy installation and maintenance. Each test zone is connected to the main console by a porous socket. As long as the main console is powered on, it can be turned on. The pressure digital display and the time digital display can be arbitrarily adjusted according to different detection requirements. When the measured steel drum pressure reaches the specified value, the time digital display automatically starts to work and sends a signal. Influent, air intake, pressurization, voltage regulation, pressure relief, drop height, direction adjustment, automatic decoupling and other actions are all operated by the main console.

Airtight test area. It consists of air compressor, water tank, elevator, instrument cabinet and so on. The front of the water tank is a plexiglass panel, which can clearly observe the leakage of the steel drum in the water. The lift is used to lower or rise the steel drum to be tested in the water tank. The instrument cabinet is equipped with pressure adjustment, sensing devices and control valves. The air source can be used after being connected to the instrument cabinet. The entire operation process is extremely convenient. . First, drill a Φ12mm hole near the injection port of the barrel to be tested, install the gas pipe joint, tighten the size of the barrel plug, put the steel drum to be tested into the water tank, and the preparation work is over. All other actions are done by the total console operation.

Hydraulic test area. It consists of a water pump, a rotating observation table, and a meter cabinet. The rotating observation table ensures that the deformation of the top of the barrel or the bottom of the barrel can still stand stably after the steel drum is pressurized. The inspection can be arbitrarily turned around to observe the surrounding, and the special tools ensure the safety of the inspection. The instrument cabinet is equipped with a gas-water separator, a pressure sensing device, a control valve, etc., and the water source and the instrument cabinet are connected to be used. The entire operation process is extremely convenient. First, the steel drum to be tested is placed near the injection port at the top of the barrel. One hole of Φ12 and Φ6mm is drilled. The inlet and outlet joints are firmly connected with the top of the barrel, and the barrel of the inlet and the vent is tightened. The steel drum to be tested is placed on a rotating observation table and is ready to be finished. Other actions are completed by the total console operation.

The gas-water separator is a specially designed device that prevents residual air in the pipe and other parts from entering the barrel. During the influent pressure process, the air in the barrel of the measured drum is discharged through the hole of Φ6mm. When the air is drained and the pressure rises, the Φ6mm vent hole is automatically closed to ensure accurate test data.

Drop the test area. It consists of electric hoist, drop test bench, and automatic detachment hook. According to the required filling volume, fill the water in the steel drum to be tested, tighten the injection port and the venting bucket plug, hook up and lift the steel drum to be tested, and finish the work. All other actions are completed by the main console operation.

The device is suitable for small and medium-sized barrel enterprises because of its good performance, convenient use and low cost. At the National Commodity Inspection Conference held in Changzhou in April this year, the State Administration of Commodity Inspection introduced and promoted the equipment. Participants spoke highly of the SP-II steel drum testing equipment and agreed that it is the ideal testing equipment in China.
