Full-Automatic Strain Tester

The Mechanics Laboratory plays a vital role in engineering education. It provides students with hands-on experience to understand material properties and deepen their knowledge of theoretical mechanics, material mechanics, mechanical components, and manufacturing processes. With a large number of mechanical experiments conducted daily, the lab is essential for students to gain practical insights into various mechanical phenomena.

Experiments such as material property comparisons, torsion tests, beam bending stress measurements, and thin-walled tube stress analysis under combined loading are commonly performed. To support these experiments, the AY-10 Automatic Strain Gauge has been developed as an advanced tool for electrical strain measurement. This device was created by integrating years of teaching and research experience from both academic and industrial settings, making it ideal for modern educational and industrial applications.

The AY-10 strain gauge features a DC bridge system, a low-drift, high-precision 24-bit A/D converter, 10-channel automatic switching, and a touch screen interface. It also includes a visual display interface based on MODBUS communication, allowing one-button zero adjustment for quick and accurate results. Its design ensures reliability, stability, and minimal maintenance, as it contains no movable mechanical parts.

It is widely used in industries such as aerospace, machinery, civil engineering, hydropower, rail transport, automotive structures, mining equipment, shipbuilding, and bridge construction. The AY-10 is suitable for both academic research and real-world applications where precise strain data is critical.

Working Principle:

The AY-10 consists of a bridge conversion circuit, a 24-bit high-precision A/D sampling unit, an embedded microprocessor, a touch screen interface, and optionally a PC. During strain testing, especially for bolt groups in mechanical parts, multiple working pieces are involved. The triode is used as a multi-channel switch, while the CD4067 analog switch manages the bridge signal transmission. To ensure consistent and accurate data, the same bridge is used, with a temperature compensation sheet and several working pieces automatically connected through an electronic switch. The K0 and K1–K10 control the switching between the compensation and working pieces, enabling fully automated strain measurement.
