Brazil developed successfully biodegradable bio-foam packaging material

Not long ago, scientists from the University of Campinas, Brazil, used rice oil, soybeans, and castor oil as the main raw materials, and added about 30% of petroleum extracts to make biodegradable plastic foams.

According to reports, unlike conventional non-degradable foams, the bio-foamed plastic materials developed at the University of Campinas, Brazil, can be decomposed spontaneously in nature after being discarded. It takes less than two years.

The production cost of bio-foam plastics is low. At the same time, toxic and harmful by-products are not produced in the production process. Therefore, it is an ideal light-weight packaging material to replace foams, which has positive significance for environmental protection.
