In order to survive the competition, glass-container manufacturers are trying their best to exploit the advantages of glass containers and constantly develop new products that meet the market in order to attract consumers. At present, the appearance of a colorless, transparent, UV-blocking UVA glass bottle has attracted widespread attention. The most significant feature of glass bottles is the transparency of the contents. However, because of this, the external light can easily pass through the container, causing the content to change and deteriorate. For example, when beer is exposed to sunlight for a long time, it will produce odor and fading. In foreign experiments, when the light wavelength is 406nm-500nm, the beer will fade until it stinks.

Recently, a transparent glass that absorbs ultraviolet rays has been developed abroad. The production method is that, on the one hand, by adding ultraviolet-absorbing metal oxides in the glass while using the color-complementary effect, some colored metals or their oxides are added to discolor the colored glass. A random sampling test of light transmittance at a wavelength of 330 nm for UVA glass and normal glass having a thickness of 3.5 mm shows that ordinary glass is 60.6% and UVA glass is only 2.5%. Exposure to sunlight in ordinary glass bottles and UVA glass bottles also showed that the former had a much higher degree of discoloration and deterioration than the latter.
