Simple and beautiful 3D printed ring stunningly debut in Paris Fashion Week

On December 21st, 2015, the annual Paris Fashion Week was unveiled. At this fashion week, luxury 3D printed jewelry design company VOJD Studios and Swiss top women's brand Akris jointly launched a series of 3D printed rings. These rings are made of silver and nylon and are manufactured using SLS (laser sintering) 3D printing technology.

The intricate details of these rings are inspired by the Noashima Pavilion designed by Japanese architect Toshiyuki Fujimoto. This pavilion is actually a large polyhedral structure made of white stainless steel mesh. This exquisite and complicated geometric device is currently being exhibited at the International Arts Festival in Kagawa Prefecture, Japan.

The unveiled 3D printed ring combines fashion, architecture, collection structure and high-precision 3D printing technology to perfectly represent the avant-garde aesthetics of VOJD and Akris and the pursuit of high-quality craftsmanship.

VOJD Studios is from Berlin, Germany, which uses 3D printing technology to create high-end jewellery collections with complex geometric forms based on nylon or silver. Working with a number of cutting-edge designers, VOJD has created a number of luxury 3D printed jewellery collections inspired by African Zulu culture, DNA spirals, current, aerospace and more.

Akris' creative director Albert Kriemler's design is named after refreshing, futuristic and architectural style, especially in the spring 2016 collection, Kriemler and Japanese architect Fujimoto Zhuangsuke created a series of grid-like, structured fabrics. To create a powerful but feminine pencil skirt, plus a jacket with a top and a tailored fit, plus a choice of monochrome in color, giving the overall a clean and simple feel.
