Two techniques for direct plate making of sleeve

Before the flexographic printing plate was made, the printing plate had to be pasted on the plate cylinder before printing. There is now a more advanced flexographic direct plate-making technology abroad, which can directly make a plate on the sleeve, and then sleeve the plate on the plate cylinder can be printed, the work efficiency is higher. This technology is the sleeve direct plate-making technology. The direct plate making method of the sleeve can be divided into two types of plate making methods: laser engraving and laser ablation.

1. Laser engraving sleeve technology, foreign countries have adopted the method of directly engraving the flexible plate on the sleeve. In this way, the sleeve can not only function as an ordinary sleeve, but also a printing plate. The pages created by the prepress system can be directly output to the sleeve by the computer, eliminating the operations of exposure, rinsing, curing, and versioning, and the working efficiency is greatly improved. For example, the laser engraving sleeve technology of PLOYWEST in Germany can produce a printing plate combining solid and hierarchical dots to obtain ultra-fine graphics.

2. Laser ablation sleeve technology, in packaging and printing, often encounter some pattern design full and repeated, and can be cut down at will. But the seam is not visible when the two ends are butted. Although it can be done on a web printing machine, if it is printed on a single sheet of paper, it is very difficult to see no seams. The sleeve technology can solve this problem very well, because on the sleeve printing plate, you can use CTP technology to directly make a plate, which can easily solve the problem. The plate making steps are as follows:

â‘  First apply a layer of hot-melt adhesive to the hollow core nickel or other metal rollers. After drying, wrap the cut photosensitive resin on the metal rollers, and put the two ends together. Pump a vacuum from the inner core of the metal roller (the surface of the roller has many small pores) to make the photosensitive plate close to the surface of the metal roller. Then put it in the oven and heat it to fuse the plate and the adhesive layer on the surface of the metal roller, and then take it out to cool.

â‘¡ Put the sleeve version cooled in the first step on the peripheral grinding machine, grind the periphery of the sleeve version to a certain diameter (using laser to detect) according to the size requirements of the print, and the layout is naturally smooth and flawless. After wiping it clean, spray a black coating on the surface of the sleeve. Allow to dry and set aside.

â‘¢ Perform the digital laser scanning on the sleeve plate prepared in the second step, so that the black coating on the sleeve plate is thermally eroded by the laser, and then perform UV exposure as usual.

â‘£ Put the exposed sleeve plate into the corrosion box to rinse and etch it, then take it out and blow dry.
