Ms. Tang sued Beijing Da Vinci Furniture Co., Ltd. to the Chaoyang court, claiming double furniture costs of more than 900,000 yuan. Yesterday, the reporter was informed that the Chaoyang court has accepted the case.
Consumer Ms. Tang sued that she purchased furniture with a total price of 451,000 yuan at the Da Vinci Furniture State Store in November 2010. For various reasons, Ms. Tang did not stay in this house. These furniture were left in the house, and some did not even remove the packaging. Recently, Ms. Tang’s family is preparing to go abroad and is ready to sell these unused furniture. However, after careful inspection, it was found that these furniture had problems such as loose side panel of the sofa handle, exposed nails, and multiple seams falling off. Since then, Ms. Tang has contacted Da Vinci Furniture Jianguo Store, but the store said it has exceeded the warranty period.
Ms. Tang said that the new furniture was damaged after two years of inactivity, and it must be that its quality was unqualified. “When it was sold, it was said to be sloppy, but it was sold to consumers with unqualified products.†Ms. Tang filed a lawsuit in the Chaoyang court, demanding the cancellation of the sale and purchase contract signed by the two parties, and ordered Da Vinci furniture to refund the furniture payment and double the compensation, totaling 902,000 yuan.
The case is currently under further investigation.
