1 Mirror ink classification and applicable materials

There are three types of Seiko mirror inks that can be selected according to the material and application of the print.

Mirror Ink B: only for PET, with excellent mirror effect and strong adhesion to PET.

Mirror ink NO2: can print polyester film (PET), PC, PVC, PMMA.


Mirror ink NO3: For other colors mirror effect printing. Can be used for PET, PC, PVC, PMMA, with gold, red gold, green gold and other colors.


Color mirror ink N03. There are gold, red gold and green gold, which are high-viscosity colored mirror inks that can be printed on PET, PC, PVC, PMMA:


2 Mirror ink characteristics

(1) Mirror ink is made of special aluminum powder and a small amount of resin as the basic material, so as to achieve a mirror effect. Due to the need to maintain the maximum fluidity of the ink, the ink adds a large amount of special solvents. Therefore, the viscosity of the mirror ink is very low, such as low water, therefore, the screen printing is more difficult, requiring high-tech printing level printing, otherwise, no printing, the mirror ink has leaked through the screen, contaminated with the substrate. In addition, in the printing process, the mirror ink is very easy to dry, in addition to easily blocking the network, but also make the dry mirror ink accumulated on the Internet, a "silver slag."


(2) Mirror ink uses the gloss properties of the surface of the substrate material to allow the aluminum powder pigment in the printed ink to be arranged in parallel on the surface of the light-printing substrate to obtain a mirror surface effect. Because the mirror ink has such properties, the material with poor light level on the surface of the first transparent substrate (transparent sheet) cannot obtain the mirror effect; if the second transparent substrate material cannot resist the solvent in the mirror ink, it is also obtained. 3 Mirror ink printing technology


(1) First, it should be understood that the mirror ink is thin like water, and the printing technique is the key. When the printing speed is slow, on the one hand, the mirror ink with thin water will leak down the screen plate; on the other hand, the mirror ink can easily absorb the moisture in the air. After obtaining the mirror effect is not good, for this reason, in the printing, the mirror ink must be printed quickly and continuously after the screen plate in order to complete the printing smoothly, that is, the speed of the inspection of the workpiece while printing, will have an impact on the printing effect For example, blocking the net, ink printing can not go on, slagging group on the screen.


(2) The ambient temperature and humidity when printing mirror ink is very important, because the ink is easy on the screen, so you can not screen printing under the air circulation, otherwise it is very easy to block the network, when the humidity is high, the mirror effect is poor, so , when screen printing. Avoid air movement and moisture as much as possible.


(3) Since the ink is thin as water, high-mesh screens should be selected. Not only that, but also the hardness of the squeegee should be harder, which can be 800 or more.


(4) Mirror ink must be fully stirred before use so that the aluminum powder and the resin must be fully mixed, otherwise it will affect the mirror effect.


(5) The tension of the screen is slightly lower, and the distance between the screens is also adjusted slightly, and the scraping pressure of the blade is appropriately reduced, otherwise the mirror effect will be destroyed.


(6) In mechanical printing, the used ink-removing knife cannot use hard aluminum or stainless steel, but should use a gum-resistant ink-removing knife. Ensure that the screen printing ink coating is even and the mirror effect is consistent.

(7) The mirror effect of mirror ink is related to the drying method. In terms of mirror effect, natural drying is not as good as heating and drying, and pay attention. Warming temperature and drying time should be the same, otherwise the mirror performance and color saturation will also be different.

4 precautions for using mirror ink


(1) If the mirror ink needs to cover other series of inks, it should choose the series of ink that does not erode the mirror ink. Otherwise, it will destroy the effect of the mirror surface.


(2) Printing mirror ink must be thin and uniform. Simultaneously. The mirror ink itself cannot be superimposed on the print. Otherwise, the peeling of the aluminum powder paint in the mirror ink occurs.


(3) For PC and PMMA transparent formable sheets, the solid internal stress exists. When printing, pay attention to the erosion of these materials by the solvent and not only lose the mirror effect. At the same time, the material will dissolve

(4) After printing mirror ink on inorganic glass. Can not be dried with natural or low-temperature drying, should be dried with more than 1000C, mirror ink can be good adhesion on the glass, showing a good mirror effect.


(5) Mirror ink is thin due to water. Under normal circumstances, no thinner is added. It is noteworthy that Japanese Seiko Mirror ink has a high viscosity in the screen printing process. It can be diluted with a special T-1000 thinner and printed after the viscosity is restored, but the thinner can not be used after agglomeration.


(6) The mirror ink should be stored in a sealed container, ambient temperature <250C, otherwise it will degenerate. Or long storage time will naturally deteriorate, once the viscosity becomes higher, the ink becomes harder and discolored. Indicates that it cannot be used. (to be continued)
