During the printing process, because the materials of the good quality ribbon protective layer are qualified, in addition to providing clear printing, the life of the print head is also protected, and friction damage is reduced. There are many inferior quality ribbons on the market now. In order to reduce the price, inferior quality ribbons usually cut corners in the protective layer process, and some do not even have a protective layer. In this way, during the printing process, the protective layer of the inferior ribbon easily falls off and sticks to the surface of the print head. This layer of protective ribbon is insoluble in water and oil, and is difficult to clean. Unrecognizable to the naked eye, for a long time, it was like putting thick clothes on the print head.
The direct result is that when the printer's set temperature is the standard temperature (such as the standard printing temperature of the Avery printer is 50 degrees), the temperature of the print head is actually higher than the standard temperature due to the deterioration of the heat dissipation. It is lower than the standard temperature. Therefore, the problem of blurry and unclear printing occurs. (In fact, it is caused by the insufficient printing temperature of the external print head) On the contrary, many customers usually test by increasing the printer temperature, for example, to 80 degrees (in fact, this time, the internal temperature of the print head is already higher than 80 degrees) The performance has deteriorated, and the external temperature of the print head is only 50 degrees (on the surface, the printing effect is good at 50 degrees). At this time, most customers will think that increasing the printing temperature is the solution (in fact, it is a permanent cure, but not a cure) The internal temperature of the print head becomes higher and higher, causing it to burn out quickly.
Therefore, when the printing effect is not clear, as a professional printer manufacturer, we do not recommend customers to improve the printing temperature, because this will only speed up the burnout of the print head.
Choosing a good quality ribbon is the best solution.
2. Static electricity
In addition, static electricity is also one of the biggest causes of damage to printers and printheads.
In industrial use, all machines must be grounded to ensure the safety of the machine itself and personnel.
Because the printing process itself is also a process of friction, the dust generated by static electricity gathers around the print head, destroying the heat dissipation of the print head, making the print head very easy to burn out.
The hazards of static electricity can be prevented by the following methods:
1) Install anti-static brush on the printer
2) Increase indoor humidity
3) Check whether the grounding is intact
3. Physical friction
Because the enamel layer, the protective layer of the print head, is very fragile, any slight scratches will cause damage.
The main mechanical damages are:
1) The method of cleaning the print head is incorrect.
2) Inferior ribbon contains metal particles, which causes friction during printing and damages the print head.
The prevention methods are:
1) Clean the print head properly and wipe regularly with a soft cotton cloth moistened with 75% alcohol.
2) Use high-quality ribbons.
The above three points are the main causes of damage to the print head.
